The "Silent Blob" Problem
9GAG uses a technology called Blob URLs to stream video. When you right-click "Save As", you often just get a silent looping video track or a weird HTML file. This serves 9GAG's ad revenue (keeping you on the site), but it's annoying for users.
How SSDown Fixes It
Our engine locates the Master Manifest file hidden in the network traffic. This file contains both the video track and the audio track. We combine them (Remux) on the fly and serve you a standard .mp4 file.
